As promised I would do a blog about this incredible music and light show to do with the works of my favorite painter: Vincent Van Gogh
I was really excited to go and see this with high expectations and it matched those expectations, so it wasn't a disappointment for me. As soon as you stepped into St. Mary's Church you can sense that you're in for a treat. I had never ever been to a light show before but I'm glad that my first time seeing a light show was to do with Vincent. The light show showed over 200 of Vincent's paintings.
This experience was unlike anything I've ever seen before. The music for the experience was good but I would of chosen Starry Night as well as the cover version by Lianne La Havas for the movie "Loving Vincent" as it's a song about Vincent Van Gogh. During the immersive experience you get here and read some of Vincent's quotes as they're projected all around the church. As look around and taking in on the immersive experience the paintings projected seemed to look like they're moving, giving us a mind blowing experience of a lifetime. Also there's a re-imagined of Vincent's room.

I mean look at it it's just like the painting itself.
At the far end of the church there's another area where you can color in your own Starry Night painting with crayons and also there's a Virtual Reality area that's part of the immersive experience. Words cannot describe what the virtual reality is about but words can describe what I thought of it: I thought it was mind blowing because you get to see some of Vincent's works in a whole new different way. After the virtual reality experience I felt a bit disorientated because one minuet I was in France and the next minuet I was back in York so it took me a while to get my head back to reality.
This is an art exhibition to end all art exhibitions and I think there should more like this for many more artists.
I do recommend this immersive experience because I thought it was brilliant and it worth £13.00 for entry and £3.00 for the virtual reality experience.
