Marvyn has brought home the statue of himself that Wisconsin torn down. Also Louise has suggested that Emma should throw a party. Can't Marvyn put the statue anywhere else other than in the living room? It'll get in everyone's way. Marvyn has been a dad to Louise than her own dad. He did confide it in with his own statue. So I guess you can say that it's good that he brought home his statue because sometimes if you can want to talk about something but not with anyone you might as well talk to an inanimate object of any kind. OMG! Was I in for a treat! The Greatest Showman actress Keela Settle is in this episode. She was one of the best actresses with great singing chops I've ever seen.
Marvyn is so desperate to get back coaching a boys team. However coaching the girls team has been turning his life around. Marvyn took Holly out for dinner because she doesn't like the way Marvyn treats her. I mean when she coached the Sirens during the Carlsbad game she looked alive. More than alive actually. Whilst Marvyn is out Emma threw a party. At first it was just her, Lucas, Dylan and team Sirens but the moron boys from Carlsbad showed up and started messing with Marvyn's statue. Marvyn's dinner with Holly was cut short when Emma phoned and asked him to come home. And as soon as he came home he was so mad with both his daughter and his team. He can't be both coach and dad at the same time. He maybe a dad but it can't only be convenient. At school he can be coach. But when around Emma he should be just a dad.
Marvyn has grounded Emma for a month and as punishment for the Sirens they helped Emma clean up the house. But you've got to admit that he's a rubbish at being a dad but he's trying really hard to be a good dad.
Dinner Is Served
When Disney+ started doing a collection of short films called Launchpad I thought that the collection might be good. However it's too early to judge.
Synopsis:
A Chinese student at an elite U.S. boarding school realizes excellence is not enough when he tries out for a leadership position no international student has ever applied for.
Review:
Xiaoyu, an aspiring student at an elite American boarding school tries out to be a maître d' but finds out that no foreign student has ever applied for. I found this short film very classy and Xiaoyu reminded me of Soma Yukihira. I think this short film represents anyone: Chinese, Japanese or anyone in the world can achieve anything than what their already planned life has in store and breaking cultural barriers.
