Disney Launchpad: An American Eid review

Synopsis

Ameena, a homesick Muslim Pakistani immigrant, wakes up on Eid to find that she has to go to school.

Trailer:

It’s nighttime and Ameena is feeling homesick. I understand how that feels as twice during my life I stayed away from home. And for the first three days I feel homesick. Ameena’s sister has been taken off a dance group because she hasn’t been showing up for a couple of weeks because of she’s been painting her room and celebrating Ramadan. But the dance group thinks that’s she’s a weak dancer. She should of told them why. Ameena and her family are celebrating their first Eid in America. Ameena believes that she and her sister should have days off to celebrate Eid. So Ameena drafted up a petition so that they could take days off school to celebrate Eid. But her sister is so upset let alone embarrassed. But when their parents heard from the school that Ameena has drafted up a petition, so they decided to bring Eid to the school that she and her sister attend and the school learned about what Eid is about.

I really enjoyed this short film because I thought that it was really cheery and colourful. It really put a smile on my face.
