Haikyu!! Series 1 Ep 1-5

Episode 1, S1:

I may have finished series two of food wars. And now it’s time for another anime to be reviewed. I wonder how good this’ll be since it’s to do with volleyball. Most people think that you should be tall enough to play volleyball, but that doesn’t mean you should keep trying no matter how tall you are. We are introduced to the main character called Sho who dreams of being in a volleyball team after joining the volleyball at school. He maybe short in height but he has a tall confidence. And can jump high enough. This is going to be one tough game. Since he joined the volleyball club he’s been practising for a long time and so far during the game Sho’s team is losing. Sho can really jump as high as Michael Jordan and Sho’s team is finally scoring points. But the captain of the opponent team is obsessed with speed and timing which can’t be good for him. He seems aggressive. Just like in Food Wars there can only be one winner. Sho is so determined to win but sadly he and his teammates have lost the game.

“No matter how strong

or weak your opponent is,

in the end

it all comes down to winning or losing.

Once you lose,

You have to step off the court.”

Wow my first quote outside of Food Wars! This is the first for me. I know that the opponents team captain had a quote but however it didn’t sound that inspirational enough.

Episode 2, S1:

Sho and the captain Tobio Kageyama are attending the same high school???? What are the odds of that? The high school’s team are quite impressed with Sho’s jumping skills from the game. And both Sho and Tobio have improved themselves since the game. But I really think that Sho and Tobio should get along because Tobio shouldn’t be the alpha player. The school team are going to try and play for the Spring High School National Tournament so that they can try to be a better volleyball team. The schools team captain banned Sho and Tobio from participating from club activities until they get along with each other. The team captain certainly gave them both a smack on the face. My guess is that the captain won’t let them play unless they become friends and teammates. If they want to play and be part of the team, they must cooperate and think of themselves as teammates and friend, but that could take sometime. But in order to prove that they’re getting along they have to play against another team or else they’ll never participate in the club. They’re training begins at 5am before practice begins at 7am. But they have a long way to go.

Episode 3, S1:

Tobio is sure one slave driver on the court. But some other member of the team found out that they were doing early morning practice. I just wish that Tobio wasn’t a total hot head. The day at school must of got off to a good start because Sho’s been practicing with another team member during their spare time. But I don’t think that Sho should let Tobio get in his way no matter how strong or tall he his. But Tobio should be his ally. Tobio is sure one tough trainer. I wouldn’t want him training me. During their practice they meet two other student who are trying out for the team: Tsukki & Tadashi. I think those two lads look down on Sho and Tobio because they think they’re going to win. I’d say they got too much confidence in themselves. Like I said the previous blog they have a long way to go. But the more practice they do, they’ll get better more and hopefully become friends. But they’ve seemed to of gotten better than before. But I gotta hand it Sho, he can really jump. They’re going to win for sure now. And that just leaves me with one question…who’s going to win?

Episode 4, S1:

The other team members won’t go easy with each other, as they’re playing three-on-three. Especially with the trash talk. Why does Sho keep getting blocked? I mean he’s a pretty good jumper; he would have been able to score. And what’s the matter with Tsukki? Ego much? All Sho and Tobio can do is agree to do what they originally planned by Tobio becoming the setter. Will this plan go through? Well they certainly know the quick attacks without knowing what it is. But Sho still wants to be the spiker no matter what. But I think Sho should work on his speed. Characteristics should be adapted instead of the other way round, that way Sho’s talents are more affective. Tobio is jealous is Sho’s reflexes and all Sho can do is try. And Sho hit the ball and the ball landed outside of the court. And all it took was Sho shutting his eyes and trust. Sho maybe short but he and Tobio have worked something out.

Episode 5, S1:

Sho’s timing is improving by the second. And the seemed to be scoring higher points. And Sho and Tobio are having fun. They really bought out the best out of each other. And they’ve joined the volleyball club. They look pretty sharp in their kit. And they’ve also got a real game coming up too. They are confident enough that they’ll win. I just hope they’re not too confident. Too much confidence may cause them to lose. But I’m sure they can pull it off. I mean after all the game that they’re going to play is only just a practice game. But they still have a lot to work on. However the school will one day have the perfect team. The pressure is really on Sho that he didn’t get enough sleep.
