One thing I like to say first before I start this blog off
7 months of waiting...
...WORTH IT!!!
Because on Tuesday whilst me, mum, dad and Charlotte watched an episode from Once Upon A Time series 5 my sister asked me if I would like to come round to her house (which is just around the corner from my house) to watch a film on Disney+. And I agreed to it because Rob went to watch the footie with some friends or his dad, I don't know. But all I know is that he went out to watch some football, my sister will be at home with the cat and doesn't want to be in a hurry to get ready for work at Leeds Playhouse Theater. So it was just a basic sisters hanging out for just under 2 hours.
The film we watched on 24/10/20 was:
OMG!!! THIS FILM WAS...EPIC!!!
The first thing I thought months and months ago was when they announced that it's not going to be a musical is "I'm going to miss the songs." How wrong was I back then. I didn't miss the songs from the original animated movie because during some of the music you can hear snippets from “Honour To Us All, True To Your Heart, Reflection, I’ll Make A Man Out Of You & A Girl Worth Fighting For.”
I loved every single camera angles, how ancient China architecture looked and depicted, let alone how life in ancient China was depicted thousands of years ago. Most people don't know this but women have been fighting in wars along side the men since ancient China, which is over a thousand years ago. When Disney made Mulan (both the animated film and 2020 live action remake) it proves that us women are as capable of doing anything that a man can do. The only thing that's different between us women and men is our reproductive system. I loved the music in this film and how the film was shot. There were too many to count beautifully shot scenes. I also love the idea that Mulan reveals her true identity to her commander and her friends that she's in fact a woman disguised as a man in a dignifying way. The stunts in this film were out of this world, epic and blew me away. I loved the music in this film. I'm going to have to download both the original animation and live action soundtracks later on. When my sister asked me "What do you think of it?" my answer "I don't know which is better. The film or the show we saw during our first trip to Disneyland Paris" because they were both brilliant. If someone asked me what film I've seen so far in my life my answer will always be "It'll either be Frozen film franchise or Mulan because Elsa proved that she's never afraid to be different and Mulan proved that us women are as strong as man." Queen Elizabeth once said "I may have to body of a weak and feeble woman; but I have the heart and stomach of of a king, and of a king of England too" to me it means that men may look stronger than women but women are just as strong as men.
