If I can say one thing about the first lock down is that it has given me the chance to build up mu baking skills. Today I've decided to make chocolate brownies. Even though the recipe says it has banana but I like bananas on it's own.
Here's the recipe:
Ingredients:
2 bananas (if you want bananas in your brownies)
400g Caster sugar
250g Block of butter
230g Self raising flour
60g Cocoa powder
4 Eggs
Things you need in the kitchen:
Baking paper
Mixing spoon
Electric cooker
Square baking tin 20cm x 20cm
Digital scales
Mug
Digital timer
Big pan
Oven gloves
Plate
Cooling rack
Bread chopping knife
Fork
Plastic box with lid
Instructions:
Before you start cooking;
Wash and dry hands
Get out ingredients you need
Get out equipment you need
1. Turn on the oven to
2. Crack 4 eggs into a mug
3. Set the digital timer for 2 minuets
4. Mix the eggs with a fork and keep stirring until the timer makes a noise
5. When the timer makes a noise weigh the butter and put all the butter in the pan
6. Weigh 60g cocoa powder
7. Put cocoa powder in pan with butter
8. Put the pan on the hob and turn hob to 4
8. Set the digital timer for 4 minuets
9. Stir everything in the pan and keep stirring until the timer makes a noise
10. When the timer makes a noise turn off the hob and remove the pan
11. Weigh 400g caster sugar
12. Put the sugar in the pan
13. Put eggs in the pan
14. If you want bananas peel 2 bananas
15. Put the bananas onto a plate, squash the bananas with a fork and put the squashed bananas in the pan
16. Weigh 230g self raising flour
17. Put self raising flour in the pan
18. Set the timer for 2 minuets
19. Stir everything in the pan and keep stirring until the timer makes a noise
20. When the timer makes a noise
21. Put some baking paper in the square tin
22. Pour the mixture into the square tin
23. Put oven gloves on and put the square tin in the oven
24. Set the timer for 40mins
25. Come back when the timer makes a noise
26. When the timer makes a noise, turn off the oven
27. Put oven gloves on, take the square tin out of the oven and put the square tin on a cooling rack
28. CAREFUL! The brownies are hot inside for a long time. When the brownies are cold cut into squares with a bread knife
29. Wash up and put everything away
30. Put brownies in a plastic box with a lid
Eat in 3 days, put the brownies left in the bin
Later that day I ate a slice of my chocolate brownie and it tasted very yummy and delicious. Full of chocolatey goodness. In fact better than shop bought or from a bakery.
